The Antichrist

We have the benefit of Historic records at our fingertips today. History is behind us! We now have absolute proof the prophecies were fulfilled in the exact years the Bible said they would be. We now need to take advantage of these historic records and bring this Truth to the world! Use the history books and share these facts with those that do not believe. Once they see this with their own eyes, they will believe.

As Christians, we are told never to give our own opinion of what a prophetic symbol means. We must allow the Word of God to define its symbols on its own. Our private interpretations are useless. Truth is, there are 404 verses in the book of Revelation, and out of those 404 verses, 278 of them carry the bulk of the prophetic message of that book. Did you know that all 278 of those verses can be found almost word for word in all the other books of the Bible? In other words, THE BIBLE DEFINES ITSELF PERFECTLY. We must never let anyone give us their opinion or interpretation of what a Bible prophecy means. We must let the Bible define the Bible. In fact, that’s how Jesus taught the Bible truths when He visited us 2000 years ago. That's also how you can identify false teachers. Just hear what they have to say, then open a Bible to see if what they’re saying matches up with what Scripture says regarding a certain symbol in prophecy.

Peter Stoner states in his book “Science Speaks” (Moody Press 1963) that if there were only eight prophecies in the entire Christian Bible there would be a 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000 chance that any one man could fulfill all eight prophecies. He then illustrates how large this number is by suggesting you picture the entire state of Texas (263,000 sq miles) covered 2 feet deep in silver dollars. Now, paint one of the coins red, and mix it into the pile. Then blindfold a man and set him anywhere in the state you want. Afterward tell the man he can travel anywhere in Texas for as long as it takes. His task is that he can only pick up one coin, and it must be the red one he picks up. He must be 100% accurate on the very first try! It would be far easier for him to do that, than it would for 8 prophecies to be fulfilled in one man. That’s how amazing Christian prophecy is. Certainly, the same odds must apply to antichrist.

We will look at ELEVEN prophecies of Antichrist to see if there is one entity on earth that matches all of them. Doing so will hopefully erase all doubt.

PROPHECY #1 - The whore will be a church and state combined

Revelation 17:3, "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."

Since the Bible defines its own prophetic symbols, what does it say about a “woman” and a “beast?”

Daniel says the woman (church) will join a beast (nation). Where on earth do we see a church and nation joined as one political entity today? Daniel 7:23 also stated that doing so would make it utterly unique than any nation before or after it. This fulfillment can only be seen in the nation called VATICAN CITY. Furthermore, Vatican City is also the Roman Catholic CHURCH simultaneously.

PROPHECY #2 - The whore of Babylon will sit upon 7 hills.

Revelation 17:9, "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."

John the apostle declares the beast (nation) this woman (church) is sitting on has seven heads. What do these seven heads represent in prophecy? During this vision the angel actually explains what those seven heads mean in reality. Later on in verse nine of the same book he tells John, “The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” (“Mountain” is also defined as “hill.” See Strong’s Concordance #3735 to confirm.)

"It is within the city of Rome, called The City on Seven Hills, that the entire area of Vatican State Proper is now confined." The Catholic Encyclopedia, p. 529.

Rome is known to be built upon seven hills. Rome was said to have been founded when Romulus and Remus, twin sons of Mars, ended up at the foot of the hill Palatine and founded the city. The other six hills are Capitoline (the seat of government), Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian, and Aventine. -"Geography.about.com"

...group of hills on or about which the ancient city of Rome was built. The original city of Romulus was built upon Palatine Hill (Latin: Mons Palatinus). The other hills are the Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian, and Aventine (known respectively in Latin as the Mons Capitolinus, Mons Quirinalis, Mons Viminalis, Mons Esquilinus, Mons Caelius, and Mons Aventinus). -Britannica.com

PROPHECY #3 - The Beast will rise from the "sea".

Revelation 13:1, "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

Roman Catholicism arose out of Western Europe with a multitude of "peoples, nations, and tongues" as parishoners. And presently the Roman Catholic church sports the highest number of "peoples, nations and tongues" in any church the world over. And now, after the prophecied One World Church coming to fruition on June 26, 2000, the Pope was elected as leader to all churches that have joined with His. This nearly doubled the church membership in the first 5 years. Soon, all churches, including non-Christian faiths will declare the pope their "moral" leader.

As of June 2008, 174 Nations out of the 192 on Earth have state representatives at the Vatican.

PROPHECY #4 - Antichrist will be a strong Political power.

Revelation 13:3, "...all the world wondered after the beast."
Revelation 13:7, "... power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

Roman Catholic Author, Malachi Martin states in his book The Keys of this Blood: "He is as determined to be world ruler as was Constantine in his day (p.49) He is protected by four governments (p. 120) He is the best-known person of the 20th century (p. 123) He is personal friends with the leaders of 91 countries (p. 490) People of the world seem to him ready for strong worldwide moral government with control (p. 160). Sixteen thousand journalists covered his American visit (p. 490)"

"During the 2,000 years the [Roman Catholic] Church has been on this earth, she has warred with nearly every government in this world. The world is full of their ruins. Their thrones have toppled over and fallen, their dynasties have come to dust. And the governments of the world today will meet the same fate if they challenge the hostility of the church of God. She remains; she is today what she was 2,000 years ago; . . she is today what she was during the Middle Ages; she is today what she was during the times of Protestant persecution during and since the sixteenth century; she is the invincible church of God. God help the state that attacks her; God help the king that provokes her hostility."--from a sermon by the Catholic priest D.S. Phelan on Sunday, Dec. 12, 1909, published in the Roman Catholic (St. Louis) periodical, The Western Watchman, Dec. 16, 1909.

PROPHECY #5 - Antichrist will be a strong Religious power.

Revelation 13:3, "...and all the world wondered after the beast."
Revelation 13:8, "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

Roman Catholic Author, Malachi Martin states in his book The Keys of this Blood: "The American ambassador says the Vatican is unmatched as a "listening post" (p. 120) The Vatican knows Saturday what will happen on Monday anywhere in the world. (p. 430) Papal structure is prepared for worldwide rule now. (p. 143)

Listen to Catholics as they speak of their Pope. Notice how they speak of the wonderful works of this mere man as often as a true Christian speaks of the wonderful works of Jesus Christ. Try it, ask them about their pope, then don't say anything, just listen. They will always glorify the creature over and above the Creator just as prophecy said they would. Prophecy says the Vatican will become the Religion of the people instead the God of creation. Historic fact is, the Catholics are those that have for generations, "...worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." -Romans 1:25

PROPHECY #6 - The Beast will control a man and his name will equal 666.

Revelation 13:17,18 "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

The prophecy states there will be a man at the head of this church & state entity that will have a name with a numeric value on it. That value will be 666. Truth is, the Vatican government must always have a pope stand as the leader. When a pope dies, a new pope is elected immediately to stand in the same position as the previous pope. He carries his office, his title, and his name beyond the grave. All popes have the exact same title in the office of pope. What is this name they must carry together?

Documented Roman Catholic source states "The letters inscribed in the Pope's miter are these 'VICARIUS FILII DEI'. which is the Latin for 'VICAR OF THE SON OF GOD.' Catholics hold that the church, which is a visible society, must have a visible head...., as head of the church, was given the title, 'VICAR OF CHRIST'." Roman Catholic Author Malachi Martin uses the exact same title for the Pope on pages 114 and 122 of his book, "The Keys of this Blood."

Since this evidence came forth regarding the title, "Vicarius Filii Dei," and it's obvious connection to the 666 calculation of Revelation. The Roman Church has opted to teach it's followers to declare this title bogus and not a true title of the Popes. They have gone to great lengths seeking to lie to their people so as to remove the overwhelming evidence against them. However, this ministry has found additional documented facts from official Roman Catholic sources regarding this title.

Vicarius Filii Dei, is cited by the rector of Berlin, Andreas Helwig [or Helwich] (1572-1643) in his Antichristus Romanus.

You also might want to take a look at another facsimilie of the NOV 15, 1914 edition of OUR SUNDAY VISITOR (A Catholic publication) that openly uses the term Vicarius Filli Dei, as well as states THE NAME IS INSCRIBED ON THE POPES MITRE! You can view the actual document by clicking here. Not only does that publication show the title, "Vicarius Filii Dei, it also explains that it is considered a valid title as they do not refute that. Instead they attempt to epxlain why it it a trivial matter that it equals 666.

One more note of interest! Why is it I ask, when you go to the archives of "Our Sunday Visitor" that this particular edition is missing? Why is it so difficult to get a copy of page THREE of the Nov 15, 1914 "Our Sunday Visitor?" It's obvious, they are purposely trying to hide the truth. Praise the Lord there are people that have copies of this publication outside Vatican control.

Interesting thing about the Latin Language is that it is both their Roman alphabet, as well as their Roman numeral system collectively.

Lately, many defending the Vatican have declared the use of the "V" twice in "Vicarivs" is invalid. However, if you research it out you will find the letter "V" was used in Roman times as a vowel (U) or a Consonant. (V) This is a common practice among all languages. For example. The letter "C" can be used as a HARD C or a SOFT C in words. Or the Letter P can be used as a P or completely silent. For example, the P in "pig" is heard, wherein the "P" in "pneumonia" is not.

Eyewitness testimony claims that Pope Gregory XVI (1831-1846) wore the inscribed tiara during the Easter Mass of 1845, and that the word Vicarius was on the top crown, Filii on the middle, and Dei on the lower crown, the words spelled out with jewels. See... The Number of his Name.

PROPHECY #7 - The Roman Church would reign for 1260 years before being "wounded unto death".

Revelation 13:5, "And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months."

"Vigilius... ascended the papal chair (538 A.D.) under the military protection of Belisarius." History of the Christian Church, Vol. 3, p. 327

Historical records reveal the papacy began its reign in 538 AD upon Emperor Justinian's decree, and under the military protection of Belisarius. And the Bible says the beast will rule for EXACTLY 1260 years before receiving a mortal wound. Now it's just a matter of simple mathematics. It is also a grand method by which to see the Lord glorified. If the prophecy is correct, 1260 years after 538 AD the Beast must receive a mortal wound. If you add 1260 years to the beginning year the Roman Catholic church became a church and state power, 538 AD, you will arrive in the year 1798 AD. According to the Bible we are told the first reign of the Beast will last 1260 years, and by doing the math, that comes to the year 1798. Did it end in 1798, and how? First understand, according to the prophecy, we learn that, "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword..." Revelation 13:10.

The prophecy is telling us that the beast would be destroyed with the sword (sword = military) at the end of its reign of exactly 1260 years. Did this happen to Papal Rome in 1798...? YES IT DID! On February 10th Napoleon Bonaparte in that EXACT year 1798 A.D. sent his General Louis Alexandre Berthier, with his army into Rome, Italy. It is recorded... "In 1798 General Berthier made his entrance into Rome, abolished the papal government, and established a secular one." -Encyclopedia Britannica 1941 edition

Documented Roman Catholic source states -"Half Europe thought... that with the Pope the Papacy was dead." -Joseph Rickaby "The Modern Papacy" Lectures on the History of Religion, Lecture 24, (London Catholic Truth Society, 1910), p.1 (Pope died in August of 1799)

PROPHECY #8 - The Roman Church / Antichrist will receive a deadly wound.

"In 1798 General Berthier made his entrance into Rome, abolished the papal government, and established a secular one." -Encyclopedia Britannica 1941 edition

PROPHECY #9 - This wound administered to the Beast will be healed:

Revelation 13:3, "... his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."

"The Roman question tonight was a thing of the past, and the Vatican was at peace with Italy... In affixing the autographs to the memorable document healing the wound of many years, extreme cordiality was displayed on both sides" -The San Francisco Chronicle. Feb. 11, 1929

Rome, June 7. --From 11 o' clock this morning there was another sovereign independent State in the world. At that time Premier Mussolini, as Italian Foreign Minister representing King Victor Emmanuel--the first Italian Premier ever to cross the threshold of the Vatican--exchanged with Cardinal Gasparri, Papal Secretary of State, representing Pope Pius XI, ratifications of the treaties signed at the Lateran Palace on Feb. 11. By that simple act the sovereign independent State of Vatican City came into existence. -New York Times July 7, 1929

PROPHECY # 10 - The beast is one that "was", "is not" and "yet is".

Prophecy declares here that this beast will be in power at one time, (was) will then be inactive, (is not) and then come back to power. (yet is) Does history affirm these three events took place with the Vatican?

The Vatican “was” a power from 538AD to 1798AD. It was “not” a power from 1798AD to 1929AD. Then as of 1929AD we see it “is” a power once again.

PROPHECY #11 - The Beast will be a blasphemous beast:

Revelation 13:1, "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

Prophecy states this beast on seven hills will be a blasphemous beast. How does the Bible define blasphemy? There are two definitions.

John 10:33, "The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."

"The Roman Pontiff judges all men, but is judged by no one. We declare, assert, define and pronounce: to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every human creature necessary for salvation that which was spoken of Christ 'thou has subdued all things under his feet' may well seem verified in me... I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all and above all, so that God himself and I, the vicar of God, have but one consistory, and I am able to do all that God can do." - The Bull Unam Sanctam... Issued by POPE BONIFACE VIII

"The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth." -Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, "Cities Petrus Bertanous

"The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, he is Jesus Christ himself, hidden under the veil of flesh." -Catholic National July 1895

"This judicial authority will even include the power to forgive sin." -The Catholic Encyclopaedia Vol 12, -article "Pope" pg 265

"And God himself is obliged to abide by the judgment of his priest and either not to pardon or to pardon, (sin) according as they refuse to give absolution, provided the penitent is capable of it." -Liguori, Duties and Dignities of the Priest, p.27

PROPHECY #12 - Three nations will be destroyed by the Beast:

Daniel 7:8, "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."

Catholic emperors of the eastern empire found ways to help the pope by eliminating three of the Arian tribes. The Catholic emperor Zeno (474-491) arranged a treaty with the Ostrogoths in 487 which resulted in the eradication of the kingdom of the Arian Heruls in 492. And the catholic emperor Justinian (527-565) exterminated the Arian Vandals in 534 and signifcally broke the power of the Arian Ostrogoths in 538. Thus were Daniel's three horns - The Heruls, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths - "plucked up by the roots." -C. Mervyn Maxwell, God Cares Vol. 1, p. 129

PROPHECY #13 -

The beast will understand the dark methods of the Occult, and do as Satan requests.

Daniel 8:23, "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."

Official Roman Catholic Jesuit Oath:
"I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants' heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. PROPHECY #14 - The beast will seek to change times and laws.

Daniel says the Vatican will think to have authority to change “times and laws.” Do they think this?

"The Pope has the power to change times, to abrogate (change) laws," -Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop. Cap. (The Pope can modify divine law.) Ferraris' Ecclesiastical Dictionary.

"The Pope is of great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret even divine laws...“ -Lucius Ferraris, Prompta Ribliotheca, "Papa," art. 2, translated

"The Bible says, Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day. The Catholic church says, No! By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day, and command you to keep the first day of the week. And lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic church!" "Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claim to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles .... "The authority of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed... the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own authority." Canon and Tradition, p. 263

PROPHECY #15 - Rome will give its power to the Catholic church:

Revelation 13:4, "And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast..."

Documented Roman Catholic source states Pope Pius IX, in his "Discorsi" (I., p. 253), said: "The Caesar who now addresses you, and to whom alone are obedience and fidelity due."

[Speaking of the time, about 500 A.D., when the Roman Empire was crumbling to pieces:] "No, the [Catholic] Church will not descend into the tomb. It will survive the Empire . . . At length a second empire will arise, and of this empire the Pope will be the master--more then this, he will be the master of Europe. He will dictate his orders to kings who will obey them"--Andrea Lagarde, The Latin Church in the Middle Ages, 1915, p. vi.

PROPHECY #16 - Antichrist will be a MOTHER CHURCH:

Revelation 17:5, "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."

We learned earlier that a “woman = church” in prophecy. A harlot is indeed a woman, but an impure one because she commits spiritual adultery against Jesus her bridegroom. (See Revelation 18:23.) Do all the churches of the world commit adultery by doing as “mother Rome” instructs them to?

"Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; --she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scripturalauthority." -Rev. “The Pope was recognized as the overall authority in the Christian world by an Anglican and Roman Catholic commission yesterday which described him as a "gift to be received by all the Churches". ... if a new united Christian Church was created it would be the 'Bishop of Rome who would exercise a universal primacy.” The Rt Rev Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, Bishop of Arundel and Brighton and the other co-chairman, added: "The primacy of the Pope is a gift to be shared." -Electronic Telegraph-UK News May 13, 1999 Oliver Poole

The UNITED RELIGIONS INITIATIVE was signed on June 26, 2000. At the signing of that document, the Pope became the global moral authority to all Christian denominations on earth. The Vatican is now controlling the One World Church that YOUR church denomination actually has membership in.

PROPHECY #17 - Antichrist will attack the children of the Creator

Revelation 13:5-7, "... power was given unto him to continue forty and two months... And it was given unto him to make war with the saints..."

In prophecy a day = a year. (See Ezek. 4:6 and Num. 14:34.) A biblical month = 30 days. (See Gen. 7:11 & Gen 8:3,4. Divide the 5 months by the 150 days during Noah’s flood, and you get 30 days per month.) This means, 42 months = 1260 years in prophecy. (Also see Dan 7:25 and Rev 12:6 to confirm the 1260 years.) On March 12, 2000, Pope John Paul II admitted in a globally publicized “mea culpa” that the Vatican did in fact kill millions of people between the years 538AD to 1798AD. Now just do the math. 1798 minus 538 = the 1260 years Rome was allowed to “make war with the saints.”

"For teaching faith contrary to the teaching of the Church of Rome, history records the martyrdom of more than 100 million people." -Brief Bible Readings for the home, p.16

"The Catholic has some reason on his side when he calls for the temporal punishment of heretics, for he claims the true title of Christian for himself exclusively, and professes to be taught by the never-failing presence of the Spirit of God . . . It is not more 'morally' wrong to put a man to death for heresy than for murder, . . . [and] in many cases persecution for religious opinions is not only permissible, but highly advisable and necessary." --"The Lawfulness of Persecution," in The Rambler, 4, June, 1849, pp. 119, 126 ["The Rambler" was an English Roman Catholic journal published from 1848 to 1862]..

Under the influence of Germanic customs and concepts, torture was little used from the 9th to the 12th centuries, but with the revival of Roman law the practice was reestablished in the 12th century... In 1252 (Pope) Innocent IV sanctioned the infliction of torture by the civil authorities upon heretics, and torture came to have a recognized place in the procedure of the inquisitional courts. -New Catholic Encyclopedia, arts. On March 12, 2000, Pope John Paul II admitted the Roman Catholic church did in fact kill well over 100 million Christians

POPE TO ASK FORGIVENESS FOR PAST FAULTS OF CHURCH'S CHILDREN
VATICAN CITY, MAR 7 (ZENIT.org).- On March 12, the first Sunday of Lent, John Paul II will publicly ask the Lord's forgiveness for past and present faults of the children of the Church. ...This morning, Bishop Piero Marini, Pontifical Master of Ceremonies, explained the meaning of this Day of Forgiveness in the Vatican Press Office. He explained that "in all generations the holiness of the Church has shined forth, witnessed by an incalculable number of her children; nonetheless, the Church suffers from the contradiction of the presence of sin, which has continued to weigh down in the road of the people of God. ...For the first time in history, John Paul II will confess the sins committed by Christians through the centuries." ...Specifically, he will admit the sins committed in the service of truth: intolerance and violence against dissidents; religious wars; violence and abuses of the Crusades; and violent methods of the Inquisition. ...The Holy Father will also express the repentance of Christians for the sins committed in relation to the people of Israel: contempt, acts of hostility, and silences.-ZE00030709

PROPHECY #18 - Antichrist will be a Christian church doing Babylonian (Pagan) acts:

Revelation 17:5, "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT..."

Documented Roman Catholic source states - Cardinal Newman admits in his book that; the "temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, Holidays, and seasons of devotion, processions, blessings of the fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests, munks and nuns), images, and statues... are all of PAGAN ORIGIN." -The Development of the Christian Religion Cardinal Newman p.359

The penetration of the religion of Babylon became so general and well known that Rome was called the "New Babylon." -Faith of our fathers 1917 ed. Cardinal Gibbons, p. 106
